Board Meeting Minutes: June 11, 2015

Proceedings:
• Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair, Steve Ash
• May 2015 Meeting minutes were approved

• Finance Committee report provided by Chair, Leslie:
- Leslie reported there is $448.11 in the treasury was seconded and passed.

•Executive Session:
- N/A

•Public Session:
- CHANT celebrated 1 year, they are now recognized by the state as a coalition and thanked C.O.P.S. for their continued support.
- Donna updated us on National Grid Heritage Park lighting project; they are hoping to start 6/22/15 to replace the light poles. Thank you Donna for all your help.
- Will talk to the city about having the silos removed from the property near Heritage Park
- Linda Harrington is looking to contact Churches in the area to see if Churches Creating Community can be revived.
- Mr. Capozzi, NT Building Inspector spoke at the meeting. Mr. Capozzi talked about the code enforcement, absentee landlord issue, foreclosed properties and Oliver St properties.
- State needs to have banks finalize foreclosed properties to prove ownership.
- Safety issues need to be addressed by the city. Citizens should call in any issues.
- City is looking to do dwelling inspection of multiple properties, has not been done since 1973. Lack of personal is an ongoing issue.
- The police will be notified of vacant “zombie” properties so they can be watch for vandalism and copper thieves. Per Mr. Capozzi there are less than fifty zombie properties located in NT.
- Officer Cake informed us that the night out should be 8/4/15 from 6-9pm. The police also have safety car seat checks for the public. Thank you Officer Cake.
